“And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Mark 4:35-41 KJV
Have you ever thought about that the disciples on that boat were experienced fisherman?
This must have been some kind of storm.
Jesus was I the boat.
WHAT TO DO:
Listen to the call of Christ. Just be still for a second and listen.
“The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14:14 KJV
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10 KJV
We need quiet time with God. Take some time and pray and listen. Stop running all around and being on the go nonstop. Take time out for God.
Seek God and ask him to meet you need. A.S.K.
“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
Prayer is not just an act. It's not something you only say at Grace. Walk in an attitude of prayer. When you see a need, pray. When you don't know what to do, pray for his will in your life.
Prayer should not be the last resort. It should be the first response.
There is a simple thing to do and that is to trust in God.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
Trust in God, not yourself. It's not your skill, money, or power. When you trust in God you leave it in his hands. Our own understanding is not enough to help us see what's going on.
There was a man wandering through a desert with bottles of water on his shoulder. He conserves his water careful until it is all gone and then he begins to get thirsty. That thirst gets deeper and deeper until he sees a pump and runs to it. He lifts the handle and pulls it down but all he hears is the sound of metal on metal. He starts to panic. Then he sees a tin can at the bottom of the pump and in the tin can is a message. “Dear traveler do not despair there is enough water here, just follow the instructions. Lift the handle of the pump, bring it down and when you hear the sound of metal on metal discouraging you here’s what you do. Under the pump in front of you there is buried under the sand a bottle of water. Do not despair. Pick up the bottle of water pour it into the cylinder and start priming the pump. The moisture will get the system to work. A rush of water will start gushing out of the pump. You can drink all of the water you want, fill all your bottles but do not forget to fill up the bottle again and leave it for the next passerby. Warning: you’re going to be tempted, when you see this one bottle of water, to drink it. But you’ll be so thirsty again and so will everyone else who goes by. Empty it out as instructed and you will have all the water you want and so will everybody else going by”….
... the story continued:
When you come up against Christ he offers you that drink, that living water to free you to be what he designed you to be, not to be enslaved just by the moment. If you empty your life on yourself you will soon be thirsty again and so will everybody else who comes across your path. Empty it out into his hands and he will fill you and give you the water that you can share with everybody body else too so life can be full and meaningful.
4- Stand firm.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV
When you don't know what to do, don't just quit. Stand firm on the foundation of God's word. Study the Bible and hide it's words in your heart, the Bible is truth. The Bible is God's will for your life, it is his road map, and what our Christianity is founded on. You made it this far, trusting in God, don't waste all you have done. Stand firm.
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” ~ Jesus
