DOES GOD STILL CALL?
Pastor Lewis Cushman.
“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
God still calls the sinner to repentance.
If your a Christian he still meets the need of his people.
God is calling "come to me"
If you are in the pit of sin God is calling you to him.
The world says,
Buy or Mattress and you will feel rested.
Buy our liqueur and you will feel happy.
Use our credit card and get what you want.
The Bible says,
Come unto me and I will give you rest, peace, and provision.
The world offers things that rust, corrupt and fail.
What call will you accept? The one from the world or the one from Jesus?
The things that God has to offer are far better then what the devil has to offer.
Who is this man we call Jesus Christ?
“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”
Isaiah 53:3 KJV
JESUS CAME AND WAS DESPISED AND REJECTED.
Every thing God gives you is GOOD.
Israel rejected God.
“And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes, and by your thousands.” 1 Samuel 10:19 KJV
There are people today who still reject God.
They want to do things their way.
We live in a country that rejecting God is fashionable.
We still have the freedom to serve and worship God according to the Bible.
“Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.” Luke 9:22 KJV
“He came unto his own, and his own received him not.” John 1:11 KJV
I once was lost but now I'm found.
You can reject God, you can dispose him, but He is still calling you.
When the world you live in crumbles around you, have faith in God. He can move the mountain.
You think you can live in the world and get by?
It's easier when you have faith in God.
JESUS CAME TO SHOW HIS FATHERS PURPOSE.
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10
“And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” Matthew 26:39
God has a purpose to save mankind from sin.
Can you imagine a world with out the influence of the church and the Bible?
What would the world be if people did not hold the Ten Commandments a foundation to law?
This world is falling away from the Lord. When a big Assembly of God can preach that homosexuality is acceptable normal behavior and the church doesn't reject the message, then there is a problem with that church. They have forsaken the scriptures and bowed down to the worldly point of view.
JESUS CAME TO GIVE REST.
“Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.” Romans 15:7 KJV
You can find rest in Jesus
Your conscience can find rest in Christ.
You can find peace through Christ.
You can find security in Christ.
There can be a storm and still have rest.
GROWING UP IN THE CUSHMAN HOUSE.
We had and uncle who was a boxer, we were three brothers, my uncle brought three sets of boxing gloves, then my uncle held me and let these two birds sitting in the second pew beat the day lights out of me. Even though my brothers did some dirty tricks to me where were kids, we still had each others backs. I still love my brothers. We are family. We will always love one another. ( Earl said he doesn't remember that incident...)
Q: Is your life a mess with no peace?
JESUS HAS THE ANSWER.
FOUR SCRIPTURES TO APPLY TO YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU NEED PEACE.

3- Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1 KJV
4- Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Matthew 7:7 KJV
