IS THE DAY OF MIRACLES OVER?
Pastor Lewis Cushman.
St Cloud Church of God.
“And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.”
How can we have a miracle?
Good news, not only does Jesus save, and fill with the Holy Ghost, but he still does miracles.
Jesus will hear the prayers of forgiveness of sins.
If we are forgiven of our sins then we are serpents of the most high God.
Realize that you are servant of God.
1- We must be servants of God.
Step one: A starting place is a prayer of repentance.
Q: Are you sins forgiven?
Step two: Accept what Jesus did for you.
Q: Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord?
If we are members of the family of God it is because of the blood of Jesus. We are all brothers and sisters. You MUST say yes to God.
2- We must make our needs known to the Lord.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
Jesus - Matthew 7:7 KJV
Ask and it shall be given unto you.
Before you go to the Lord, he knows what you will need that day.
God know when you need his strength
God knows when you need blessing.
God knows when you have NEED.
If you are broke, he knows what you need.
God is faithful.
YOU MUST ASK FOR FORGIVENESS OF SINS BEFORE YOU ARE SAVED.
If we can't live according to the good book, then we might as well fold up and go home.
The Bible is full of promises, it's there, just read it.
Don't ever give up on God.
God will never give up on you. Jesus said -
…observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:20b (KJV)
He went to the cross and shed his blood so that we might be saved.
Know that what you are asking for is his will. Find it in the word.
3- You must be ready to hear Jesus speak to you.
If we don't spend enough time to know his voice, then we need to re priorities things in our life.
Jesus said "my sheep know my voice."
Q: Do you know his voice?
Miracles still happen.
While a pastor in Florida on one afternoon after Sunday’s service I started to walk home. It was not too far just 500 feet or so. As I walked around the corner, I heard a voice say “You’re going to move” .. I turned to see who said that, No one was there. I replied what “did you say?” Again I heard “you’re going to move.” On Tuesday a church in Maine called to offer me a church. My wife was not pleased, she liked Florida. I notified the church that I would be leaving and packed up my stuff. The van was loaded and the boat was attached to the back. As I headed north on 95 and the van broke down. I got on the CB and asked if there was a Smokey around. The replay was there is one who always patrols that area he should be by soon. I sat and he did not come. I asked again and was told he should be by in a few minutes… he did not come. It was dark out and I couldn’t see a thing. Then a vehicle pulls behind me and a woman gets out. Not sure as to what her intent was I lowered the window a small amount. She asked me if I was having some car trouble. Yes I am. They said we will be right back and went up the road and did a u turn till they came back and were nose to nose. Jumper cables in hand we started the van. As soon as the cables were removed, the van died again. … She said again we will be right back. They left and I waited. When they returned she said we are going to take care of you. She told me how they were Christians and God had told her husband, who was driving south to do a U turn. He listened. They were directed to me. A tow truck came and loaded up the van, but what about my boat. I would not want to leave that there over night. They had a hitch and hooked my boat to holding yard that was fenced in and my van to a repair shop into the garage for the night. God still does miracles.
4- You must be ready to do his bidding.
Whatever he says to you' do it.
Whatever God says do it immediately without delay.
Not just hearts only, but doers.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Holman Christian Standard Bible But be doers of the word and not hearers only. James 1:22
5-You must act in faith.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 1 Peter 1:13
