“I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing. I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.” Psalms 101:1-8
Q: What kind of heart is God looking for?
1- A HEART THAT WAS TOUCHED BY GOD.
I am not perfect. No one is perfect. There is none righteous no not one. When we stand before God we will be made into perfection. That is when we will stand with a perfect heart. A perfect heart is found in doing the right thing. Wake up and start each day with the prayer that God would help you to do the right thing. We may not always do or say the right thing, but we are a work in progress. God is not through working on you, just keep your heart towards him. Don’t turn, but stay focused on the eternal calling of a loving God. Doing the right thing is not what makes your heart perfect, its God. Sometimes you can do the right thing without a perfect heart. Look at what the Bible says about Amaziah, “And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.” 2 Chronicles 25:2 KJV
God is still touching the hearts of people today.
A- When you have been touched by God you will be changed.
B- When God saves you from sin it will change your life.
C- When God touches your heart then your lifestyle will be changed. You will hunger for the things of God, you will desire to be in his presence, and you will want to serve him. Jacob was never the same after wrestling with the Lord. His heart was touched.
2- A FEARLESS HEART.
NO FEAR. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalms 23:4 KJV
In the days of war a Japanese police man made the people in a small village swear that they would not become Christians.”If you do I will throw you in the river and you will drown.” He said, some said I have to give up. Then in the middle of the Christians a small boy said “this is only the body, we don’t have to fear if we die we go to heaven.” A vote was a taken; they decided to stand for Jesus. Shortly afterwards the policeman said tomorrow you will die. The policeman was fishing in the river and hit a rock, he broke his leg and he was drown.
3- A DEVOTED HEART.
Too many people never make up their mind to follow Jesus.
Have you made that decision to follow Jesus?
Who or what are you devoted to?
What consumes your time?
A- For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21
B- If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:1-2
4- A TENDER HEART.
We must possess ahead to of compassion. God put a desire to reach the lost. Our world is sick with sin. It needs the healing that Jesus brings. Be kind one to another. Reach out to people with compassion. Do you love people? Are you reaching people with compassion. Jesus had compassion, even on those that were against God.“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!” Matthew 23:37
Life Story ...
Abraham Lincoln was known for his compassion. The story is told that two women, relatives of General Lou Wallace, once came to the White House when Lincoln was president. They inquired about Wallace, who had been in a hard-fought battle, and wanted to know whether he had survived. After learning that their loved one had made it, they spoke rather freely of their joy. In the battle there had been a casualty named Wallace but they were thankful it had not been “our Wallace.” Calmly and soberly, Lincoln responded, “Yes, but it was somebody’s Wallace, wasn’t it?”
Are you able to hear the voice of God? Does he speak into your heart? When you read the Bible, God is speaking to you. God is compassionate and he loves you he sent his son for you so that you might have eternal life. Are you trusting God for salvation?
5- A REDEEMED HEART.
Greater is he that is in you then he that is in the world. You don't have to be perfect to have a perfect heart, you just need the blood that Jesus shed. When God forgives, you are cleansed. We can have a perfect heart because of His perfection.
